The Quince Tree Sun

 

 

In this film, the director Victor Erice explored the creative world of Antonio López, by reflecting the importance of light, accuracy and the pursuit of truth in the artist’s painting. This film won the Jury Prize and Critics Prize at the Cannes Film Festival 1992 and also the Grand Prix of the Chicago Film Festival the same year. In 1999 it was named Best Film of the Decade by the Cinematheque Ontario, Canada.
